Our Mission

To be a global community of believers, united in Christ, rooted in the truth of the gospel, and dedicated to making disciples in France

Overview

Paris, France is a diverse city where people from all over the world come to see the sights, pursue higher education, seek a better life, or work for an extended period. As a result, an international church has the unique opportunity to welcome hundreds of visitors each year and minister to people from all over the world. Some are here for a week or a month, while others stay longer and join the mission of Cornerstone International Church of Paris (CICP).

CICP recognizes the privilege and unique opportunity it has to serve Europe's second-largest city. We are focused on being a global community of believers, united in Christ, grounded in the truth of the gospel, and dedicated to making disciples.

Global Community
of Believers

Equipped to recognize cross-cultural differences

Hosting people from diverse nations introduces a variety of cultural practices, which are often misunderstood. When a church body is equipped with cross-cultural understanding, members can better interpret the actions and behaviors of their brothers and sisters in Christ. At Cornerstone International Church of Paris (CICP), we prioritize developing these cultural competencies through our membership course, helping foster unity in Christ within our culturally diverse community.

Holding firm to the historic Christian faith

Biblical heresy poses a constant threat to Christ's church. At CICP, the leadership is dedicated to safeguarding the congregation from harmful doctrines that can undermine the health and integrity of the church. Our doctrinal positions align with many throughout Baptist history, some of which include The New Hampshire Confession of Faith, The Abstract of Principles and the more recent The Baptist Faith and Message (2000).

Biblically discerning amid diversity

A culturally diverse congregation brings with it different preferences and practices from various home countries. At CICP, the goal is to worship in a manner that aligns with how Scripture instructs and outlines how to worship. While different languages may be incorporated into the service and traditional music from various countries is welcomed, the focus remains on the essentials: Scripture is read, the Bible is preached, the Word of God is sung, and the ordinances are faithfully administered.

United in
Christ

Confronting sin and seeking repentance

At CICP, we strive to follow Jesus in all aspects, including His instructions on church discipline as outlined in Matthew 18:15-17. Members willingly and gladly submit to this process, understanding that Jesus designed it for the good of our souls and the well-being of His church.

Recognizing and affirming those who belong to Him

Christ grants the local church the authority to proclaim and protect the gospel, to recognize and affirm those who belong to Him, to unite them within the Body, to oversee their discipleship, and to exclude impostors.

Forgiving and looking forward to a future in His presence

The Lord’s Supper is the meal we regularly share together to celebrate the work of Christ and express that we have been joined together in the family of God. Our shared life proclaims the Lord’s death until he returns to make good the invitation to his eternal banquet.

Rooted in the Truth of the Gospel

Preaching the whole counsel of God

The true power of God’s Word is revealed by boldly conveying the true meaning of the biblical text. At CICP, we are committed to expository preaching during our Sunday gatherings.

Proclaiming the story of redemption

At CICP, reaching our neighbors with the gospel of Jesus Christ is a passion. Regular evangelistic outings are scheduled throughout the year, and members are equipped to engage a post-modern worldview through faithful apologetics and unwavering convictions, compelled by a love for our neighbors, for our beloved Savior, and for making his name known.

Partnering with like-minded churches and associations

CICP actively welcomes partnerships with like-minded churches and associations. We are proud members of The Pillar Network and Reaching and Teaching International Ministries. Additionally, we align ourselves with the 9Marks (9marks.org) of a healthy church.

Dedicated
to Making Disciples

Growing towards maturity in Christ

Given the transient nature of an international church, CICP leadership has established structures that adapt to the duration of each member's stay in Paris. Whether someone is in town for a semester, a year, or longer, CICP is committed to helping each member grow to full maturity in Christ and sending them off with a stronger faith than when they arrived in Paris.

Gifted to equip and serve the diverse body of Christ

Growing in Christ requires the body of Christ to exercise their God-given gifts within the local church. CICP fosters discipleship by encouraging members to identify and utilize their gifts while actively participating in the life of the church.

Giving time, desires, and resources for his glory

At CICP, our focus is on building the Kingdom of God rather than establishing our own personal kingdoms here on earth. We strive to be generous in a way that reflects God’s generosity to us in Christ. We exemplify this generosity through our finances, the stewardship of our time, and by supporting global missions. This includes sending global workers to the mission field, praying for missionaries around the world, serving as global workers ourselves, and welcoming the nations that come to our church.
